Essential immigration update: a legal guide to recruiting care workers from overseas

Would you like to learn more about how to recruit care workers from overseas?

Care workers will be added to the Shortage Occupation List on 15 February, which means they will then be eligible for sponsorship and the Health and Care visa. This is a response to the urgent recommendations from the Migration Advisory Committee to address the staffing shortages in the care sector. It will cover care workers, support workers and home care assistants. Nurses and senior care workers are already eligible for sponsorship. Following this change, employers with a sponsor licence will be able to employ care workers from overseas.

If you don't have a sponsor licence already, you will need to apply for one before you are able to employ care workers from overseas.

Our Business Immigration team are pleased to invite you to our legal webinar where we will explain the requirements for recruiting care workers from overseas, the benefits of the Health and Care visa and how to comply with your sponsor duties to the Home Office when employing care workers. We will also provide practical guidance on how to apply for a sponsor licence, if you don’t already have one.
