Community Support Services Virtual Tender Event(s)

You are invited to join a pre Tender Event for the Community Support Services (CSS) framework (Bristol Community Support Services - bristol.gov.uk) Which is due to close 28th March 2022. The event will be held on Microsoft Teams and there are two dates available (schedule and Eventbrite links further down the email).

Community Support Services (CSS) in Bristol are adult social care support services for adults (18+ years) with statutorily assessed eligible social care needs, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental ill health, older people, and carers.

With your help we would like to grow quality care within adult care services, so that the market has a diverse offer that meets our citizens’ needs.

Organisations must pass the CSS tender process to join the CSS Framework to be considered to deliver Community Support Services. These virtual workshops are being provided to help develop a better understanding about what BCC hope to commission and how to answer tender questions most effectively.

The CSS framework has 4 services in which you can apply to:

  • Lot 1- Day Services
non-accommodation-based support provided in the local community, usually building based day support.

  • Lot 2- Supported Living
support provided within someone’s home to enable and maintain independent living, where the tenancy and support are intrinsically linked. Supported Living, as described in the specification, tends to be accommodation support alongside support with non-domestic tasks. The provider may or not be the Landlord alongside the service provider, but the tenancy and support will be intrinsically linked.

  • Lot 3- Support to access the community
non-accommodation-based support provided out in the local community and/or accommodation-based support provided in someone’s home focused on house/domestic related tasks where the individual is the owner or tenant of their own home, and the service provider is not the Landlord.

  • Lot 4- Time for you
support to enable carers to take a break from their caring role and/or to provide them with the support they need to continue in their role, such as befriending.

When tendering for the CSS framework an organisation can apply for multiple of the services above.

What is a Tender?

A tender is a fair and transparent process in which organisations can provide a bid/submission which is evaluated against a set of criteria. If an organisation passes all necessary sections of the tender (there are different sections depending on the Lot in which you are applying), they are deemed successful and placed onto the Framework. Being a part of the framework will enable Bristol City Council to purchase services with that organisation under the contract in which they have applied.

Why am I being invited to this event?

  • You have expressed an interest in applying for the CSS framework

  • You have previously applied and unfortunately not been successful

  • Your organisation has the skills we need on our framework to support current demand

  • You may be a network who can promote this event/tender to other organisations

The purpose of the event will be to:

  • Provide overview of the CSS framework and current market/demand

  • Provide tendering tips and information on the sections of the tender

  • Opportunity for Q&A
