FREE Support and advice for social care providers from the BNSSG Sponsorship Recruitment Scheme
Care and Support West are working with Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils to offer support and advice to local care providers who have sponsor licences, are in the process of applying, or are thinking about applying.
What is the aim of this scheme?
Over recent months, Care and Support West has spoken to a number of providers who have sponsor licenses. From their feedback, many benefits were apparent. However, they also identified some challenges which highlighted that support is needed for both care providers and international workers.
In view of this, we have worked with our local BNSSG councils to put together a scheme which will give care providers who have a sponsor licence, who applied for one, or are thinking about applying for one - access to a range of offers to support themselves and their international workers on the sponsorship journey.
It will also provide ongoing feedback from care providers to Care and Support West and the three councils to help ensure that the support being offered is the most relevant and useful it could be.
The funding for this scheme has been made available from the government's International recruitment fund for the Adult Social Care allocation to the BNSSG councils. This scheme has now been running for 16 months and will continue to run through to June 2026.

FREE “Train the Trainer” Cultural Awareness training session for internal training
FREE monthly legal updates
FREE guidance from C&SW project staff about the support options available that could be best for your organisation
FREE monthly newsletters

Once registered we will keep you up to date with all the latest news and events to support your sponsorship journey.
In return we ask that you agree to:
Complete a regular request for details to understand how things are going with sponsorship recruitment in your area
Let us know if your point of contact changes, so that we can send information to the right person
Respond promptly if one of the councils contacts you to ask about any workers who might be displaced

What is the BNSSG Sponsored Care Workers app?
We are pleased to announce that we have launched our new Sponsored Care Worker App. This app is aimed at your sponsored care workers to help them settle into living and working in care in our region. It has lots of information about how to do things and services and support that is available to them. If you have sponsored care workers in your organisation please share this app this them.
The app also has an area dedicated to local care providers, with lots of useful information and signposting to help with the complexities of the sponsorship journey.
