New Scheme  - BNSSG Sponsorship Recruitment Scheme - FREE Support and advice for social care providers

Care and Support West are working with Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils to offer support and advice to local care providers who have sponsor licences, or are in the process of applying.

What is the aim of this scheme?

Over recent months, Care and Support West has spoken to a number of providers who have sponsor licenses. From their feedback, many benefits were apparent. However, they also identified some challenges which highlighted that support is needed for both care providers and international workers.

In view of this, we have worked with our local BNSSG councils to put together a scheme which will give care providers who have a sponsor licence, or who have applied for one, access a range of offers to support for themselves and their international workers.

It will also provide ongoing feedback from care providers to Care and Support West and the three councils to help ensure that the support being offered is the most relevant and useful it could be.

The funding for this scheme has been made available from the government's International recruitment fund for the Adult Social Care 2024 to 2025 allocation to the BNSSG.

What support does the scheme offer?

The support includes:

  • FREE webinars - both for those who are new to sponsoring overseas workers, and those who are well established

  • FREE cultural awareness training

  • FREE monthly legal updates

  • FREE access to 30 minutes individual advice from a specialist solicitor (subject to availability)

  • FREE guidance from C&SW project staff about the support options available that could be best for your organisation

  • FREE monthly newsletters

But there is also support available from your local council:

 
 

What else?

Once registered we will keep you up to date with a monthly newsletter to let you know about upcoming events and training.

In return we ask that you agree to:

  • Complete a regular request for details to understand how things are going with sponsorship recruitment in your area

  • Let us know if your point of contact changes, so that we can send information to the right person

  • Respond promptly if one of the councils contacts you to ask about any workers who might be displaced
