FREE Support and advice for sponsored care workers from the BNSSG Sponsorship Recruitment Scheme
Care and Support West are working with the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils to offer support and advice to local sponsored care workers, and those who have recently lost their sponsors and are looking for a new one.
What is the aim of this scheme?
We have been running the BNSSG Sponsorship Recruitment Scheme for over a year from funding from the government's International recruitment fund for the Adult Social Care allocation to the BNSSG councils.
Recently we have also been looking at how we can extend our support to our local sponsored care workers, as well as those who have lost their licence either because their employer’s licence was revoked or they were not receiving enough hours.
What support does the scheme offer?
✅ A FREE App
A free app for your phone where you can find lots of information to support you living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and working in the local care sector. This app also has our latest news about our events.
✅ FREE Events
Webinars: Short online session with lots of information about working and living as a sponsored care worker.
Training: Caring in the UK training session is an all-day session which looks at all aspects of working in the UK care sector. We are currently in the process of booking these events and will let you know more when they are ready.
Employability Skills Training: These all-day training sessions are aimed at displaced care workers who are looking for a new sponsor. We are currently in the process of booking these and so will let you know when these are ready.

What is the BNSSG Sponsored Care Workers app?
This app is aimed at sponsored care workers who work and/or live in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
It has lots of useful information about accommodation, money management and support from local organisations as well as the latest news and updates around immigration and visas.

What is the Job Base in BNSSG?
If you are looking for a new sponsor and you live in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire you can register with the Jobs Base. Registering with the Jobs Base will give you access to care jobs locally from providers who have sponsor licences.
How to find a new sponsor when you have exhausted the Jobs Base?
It may be that there are no current positions on the Jobs Base which suit you. There are other places which could help you find a new sponsor.
