
We work closely with local authorities, health authorities, and clinical commissioning groups locally and have Skills for Care input at board-level. We also have regular meetings with the Care Quality Commission and are members of Care England and the Care Association Alliance.
We offer representation to individual care providers in times of trouble. These include independent service reviews, HR support, and other business help. We ask members for input into our regular Cost Pressures Report to use in local dialogue. Check out our latest representation news updates below:
How we represent you…
The attached report has been sent to your local Director of Adult Social Care (ASC) and their senior managers. It has also been sent to the lead elected Cllr member for ASC in your LA as well as the same report going to your local MP or MP’s.
This report sets out in detail the dire situation providers of adult social care face whether they be a building-based organisation or one which operates from an office into the community – for example home care. The situation is not a new one --- for many years we have, as a Care Association, been reporting the increasingly desperate circumstances ASC providers have found themselves in.
The purpose of this ‘Service Costing Considerations’ document is to promote dialogue and help establish a long overdue narrative around what is actually required to ‘fix social care’.

We meet quarterly with commissioners to discuss sector pressures and initiatives. These meetings provide us - and you - with opportunities to influence local change. Care and Support West Directors also influence via jointly charing Care Provider Forums in Bristol, South Glos and North Somerset and being present in the B&NES forums.
We meet regularly with Professor Martin Green, CEO of Care England, a national organisation with direct links to Government. we also meet quarterly with the Regional Head of CQC.
