Cost Pressures representation for the financial year 2021/22

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the financial pressures faced by social care providers along with their inability to recruit the staff they need were already well recognised and well documented. It is widely accepted that the sector has been consistently underfunded and is in a fragile state and that for elements of the system we might not actually be too far away from wholesale collapse. All of this against a backdrop where the demand for social care is steadily increasing as the population becomes older. 

And then there was Covid-19!!!
