Legal update: Government updates “part-year worker” definition under new holiday regulations guidance
We have an important update for you on the Employment Rights (Amendment, Revocation and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2023, which came into force on 1 January. You may remember that there was some confusion over the definition of a “part-year worker”, as the guidance issued by the government seemed to be at odds with the wording in the regulations.
On 1 April, the government quietly clarified this in a bit of a U-turn from what they initially had said when the regulations were published. So, in this legal update, we explain exactly who meets the criteria of a part-year worker under the regulations and what that may mean for your business.
