A webinar for trustees and senior managers
Safeguarding Adults Week is a time for organisations to come together to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues, and this webinar, arranged in partnership with the National Care Forum, will offer care providers some particularly relevant and concise updates. The agenda will include:
Learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs): follow up to the discussion during our 2022 webinar.
The Safe Care at Home review: key points from the Home Office/DHSC report published in June 2023.
NHS Digital adult safeguarding data 2022-23: key tends.
Independently chaired safeguarding monitoring groups within not-for-profit care providers: how this model is developing and interacting with wider national policy.
The webinar will also hear from NCF member Friends of the Elderly about how feedback is being sought from people who have been the focus of a safeguarding concern. This innovative work is a great example of Making Safeguarding Personal being put into practice within care services.
The webinar will be led by NCF partner Peter Cheer. Peter has worked as an independent consultant since 2015 with a particular interest in safeguarding. He is the independent chair of Friends of the Elderly’s Safeguarding Adults Sub-committee, and independent chair of the Safeguarding Board at Midland Heart Housing Association. He has also conducted various safeguarding reviews and investigations for a range of organisations.
