Why join us?
As part of the second stage of events for the Swindon & Wiltshire and West of England Local Skills Improvement Plans, this focus group will give you the opportunity to voice your opinion about skills needs in your sector and region, alongside other businesses.
We want to know, from the businesses that are at the heart of the industry, how we can help shape post-16 education to better support the Health and Social Care & Life Sciences sector’s needs.
Your views will feed into the Local Skills Improvement Plan, a national change in the way business needs are put at the heart of education and training delivery*. After the session, you will receive a list of recommendations and organisations who may be able to help you with the topics you raise in the session from our Business Engagement Team.
Who can join?
This event is open to any business located in the Swindon & Wiltshire or West of England regions, in the Health and Social Care & Life Sciences sector, that wants to impact the skills your workforce will need in the future.
If you’re a training provider or regional partner and you’d like to get involved, please email us first at LSIP@businesswest.co.uk to discuss. These focus groups aim to collect business intelligence directly from businesses in the region so we prioritise event spaces for eligible businesses to the LSIP, however, we may have some available spaces for our partners and providers to join.

What happens after the event?
