Sharing Information to Tackle Child Sexual Abuse
If a child is at risk of harm, timely, effective information sharing plays a vital role in supporting early identification, protecting children from abuse, and supporting them in their recovery and wellbeing.
To help explain who holds what information, and how to share it, the centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA Centre) has developed Sharing information to tackle child sexual abuse.
The comprehensive new guide is designed for all professionals working with children – whether in statutory agencies or voluntary sector and community organisations – to learn how to use and share the information they hold with other professionals to effectively safeguard the children they work with from child sexual abuse. You can read more here
There is also a Whole School Approach to Child Sexual Abuse resource available. Find it here
Exploitation
Reporting Exploitation to the police - are you aware of the police portal for professionals? Everything you need to know is here on this page
Home Office Disruption Tool - there is also a really helpful guide to disruption of those suspected of perpetrating harm, recent audits and reviews have shown this is not widely known about by professionals. Take a look at it here
Bikeability
Bikeability is the government’s national cycle training programme that teaches children and adults the skills and confidence to cycle safely on today’s roads. It offers three progressive levels of practical training, from basic bike handling to navigating real traffic. Delivered by qualified instructors in schools and communities across England, Bikeability helps more people cycle confidently, independently and more often. We also run holiday courses during the school holidays. If you are interested please contact cycle.training@southglos.gov.uk
