The forecast is currently as follows:
Tuesday 23rd June: A generally dry and fine day today, however we could see some thunderstorms moving into SW England. These could bring some medium to high level cloud, with short periods of heavy rain, hail and gusty winds, however there is a lot of uncertainty the track of these as they are very elevated which limits the amount of rainfall potentially reaching the ground. but we're keeping a very close eye on the radar and a short notice low impact YELLOW warning could be issued if we have growing confidence of impactful storms as the day progresses.
Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th June: Wednesday & Thursday look to be the peak of the temperatures affecting a large swathe of the country. The AMBER EXTREME HEAT warning that was issued yesterday (Sunday) has been updated this morning and pulled further into Cornwall so pretty much covers the whole of SW England. We have also issued a RED EXTREME HEAT warning for parts of SW England, where we’re likely to see the highest temperatures.
Please see the attached emails, consider the impacts on your Business Continuity and implement any relevant actions within your own service plans.

We are activating the Severe Weather Co-ordination Group for a meeting at 15:00 today (invite to be sent out shortly), please raise any Business Continuity issues to the EMU (emu@n-somerset.gov.uk) to allow us to consider these at the meeting.
