Multi Agency Risk Management Meetings (MARM)

Did you know that South Gloucestershire now has a MARM?  This is a framework that you can use for an adult you are working with.

What is MARM?

The Multi-Agency Risk Management (MARM) is designed to support people where high levels of risk have been identified, and a multi-agency approach would be beneficial. It brings together senior professional representatives from multiple agencies including the emergency services, health and social care to identify what needs to be done to reduce risk.
MARM does not replace statutory adult safeguarding.

Who can refer to MARM?

Anyone from any organisation can make a referral.  There is a referral form available by clicking here. and referrals can be submitted to marm@southglos.gov.uk

What  is the criteria?

Before you make a referral check the criteria here.

The next MARM meeting is on 9th November and we have space for new referrals.  Please submit your requests asap.

What 3 Words

The Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) Annual Report presentation included a session by the South West Ambulance Service and highlighted the importance of all of us (and those we work with) downloading the what3words app.

If you call 999 for an ambulance the ambulance service will use your what3words location to find you quickly.  This is particularly important in a rural or remote location. What3words gives a precise location within a 3m square.  It doesn’t need a data signal to give your location if you already have the app.

How do I use it?

Download the app here today.

Don’t wait until you need to make a 999 call.

If you need to give your location:

  1. Open the app on your phone

  2. Find your current location

  3. Give the call handler your three word address (eg.///kites.chat.dine)

  4. The ambulance control room can allocate resources more quickly as they will know exactly where you are.

Families First Partnership is now live

This achievement follows more than 18 months of planning, design and collaboration involving colleagues across the local authority and partner organisations, all working towards a shared vision of improving outcomes for children and families.

The launch was marked by bringing together key delivery partners from across South Glos to celebrate everything that has been achieved so far and look ahead to the next phase.

The Families First Partnership brings together Children's Services and partners, including education, health and policing, to provide earlier, more joined-up support for children and families. By strengthening partnership working and improving how services work together, FFP will help ensure families receive the right support, at the right time, from the right people.

The children’s partnership website has a section about FFP where you will find documents and updates.
