10 Year Health Plan - initial reflections from NHS BNSSG ICB

Following the recent publication of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan, we thought it helpful to share our initial reflections from the ICB perspective. If you have not already had an opportunity to view the Plan, it is available on the GOV.UK website.

The attached report provides a very high-level overview of the national Plan and some examples of work already well underway within our area that aligns with the national vision. It also highlights the connections between the national ambition and what we have heard from our communities, staff, and partners through local Change NHS engagement activities that we supported earlier in the year.

It is heartening to see the Plan references the importance of ICBs and the crucial role they will play in delivery, with a more focused role as strategic commissioner of local health services. However, we are mindful of the organisational changes that we are currently navigating and the need to consider the Plan in this context. Our continued priority is to maintain stability, support our teams, and keep patients and communities at the heart of what we do.

We look forward to discussing these developments with you further over the coming weeks and welcome any reflections you may have.
