Volunteers requires for testing BYOD policy
Still looking for volunteers for testing BYOD policy builder tool
The PSC, on behalf of the 'Better Security, Better Care' programme at the Digital Care Hub, are looking to speak to adult social care staff as part of our research to create an interactive policy creation tool.
We know that many adult social care providers allow staff to use their own devices (e.g. smartphones) for work purposes, but aren't confident in how to have the right policies and controls in place to minimise the risks. We therefore want to help providers to create effective policies that help them protect cyber security and data privacy, through a new policy creation tool.
We're hoping to speak with adult social care providers, to help us develop this tool. During these conversations, we will:
Ask questions about your needs and experiences with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) schemes and policies
Share the developing policy creation tool, and hear any thoughts you have on what works well and what doesn't
We wouldn't expect you to bring anything to the meeting, and you won't need to prepare anything in advance. We also wouldn't expect interviewees to have any technical knowledge or experience, as we want to make sure that the tool is easy to understand for people from non-technical backgrounds as well.
The interview would be 45-60 minutes long, and take place online These would ideally be between 18th June and 1st July.
We want to talk to a wide range of organisations that use BYOD schemes, and are particularly interested in speaking with:
Both those who have BYOD policies in place, and those who don't
People responsible for data protection who are in non-technical roles (e.g. owners, directors)
People who work for home care providers
People who work for organisations with <20 employees
