· NHS top doctor issues call for Spring COVID-19 vaccinations
England’s top doctor has urged those eligible for a Spring COVID-19 vaccine to come forward, as figures published show almost four in ten eligible people have received their jabs (38.8%).
The weekly vaccination data, also published today, shows NHS teams have now delivered over 3 million (3,049,506) jabs since the rollout kicked off on 1 April. Details here.

What can the UK learn from other countries that have legalised assisted dying? This long read explores assisted dying policies across 15 jurisdictions in 9 countries, highlighting practical and operational differences in implementation, and how these systems have evolved. Digitising the NHS and adult social care
This research found that significant investment will be needed in the UK over the next 5 years and beyond. Over the next 5 years, this includes around £8bn capital spending (of which £5bn is for England), £3bn one-off revenue spending (£2.25bn for England) and £2bn recurring annual revenue spending each year (£1.5bn for England). Recurring costs will be ongoing beyond the 5-year period that was the focus of this research. Details here.
