Addressable Panels - Updated Standards

Please see below important message from Avon Fire & Rescue Service:

We can advise that all new fire alarm systems should be fully addressable for Care Homes, and if current fire alarm panels require replacing then they should be fully addressable also.

Presently there is no requirement to replace non-addressable fire alarm panels with addressable ones before they require replacing (unless the fire risk assessment requires this).

And if care homes do not have fully addressable fire alarm panels, then their emergency procedures should demonstrate that the premises emergency plan functions to a satisfactory level.
