CQC Consultation: “Better Regulation, Better Care” – Your Voice Matters
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched a new consultation titled Better regulation, better care, and we want to encourage everyone in our network to take part. This is your chance to help shape how care services are assessed and regulated in the future.
What is this consultation about?
CQC is proposing changes to how it inspects, assesses, and rates health and care providers. Some of the key proposals include:
Defining clearer expectations for each rating level
Offering a more transparent view of quality and safety across care sectors
Simplifying their assessment frameworks
Strengthening the role of professional judgement
Revisiting how follow-up assessments and rating updates work
Potential changes to how NHS trusts and independent hospitals are rated
Why this matters to you
As colleagues involved in care and support services, your experience, insight, and feedback are invaluable. The changes CQC adopts could directly affect:
How your service is evaluated
The clarity and fairness of inspection processes
