Adult Social Care Caldicott Guardian Learning Network

Check out our new page on our Caldicott Guardian Learning Network. This learning network aims to bring together a range of Caldicott Guardians to learn, share and explore the growing role of a Caldicott Guardian in adult social care. CGs from both local authorities and care provider organisations are invited to participate. The Network is run by Digital Care Hub and co-chaired by the National Care Forum and a Social Care Caldicott Guardian. We are delighted to be supported by UK Caldicott Guardian Council for these meetings. Keep up to date below.

Cyber security incidents: how to respond and recover

To mark Cyber Security Awareness Month, Better Security, Better Care has published new guidance to help care providers respond to and recover from cyber security incidents. As well as tips on how to reduce the risk and impact of a cyber incident or attack, the guide includes advice on what to do if an incident occurs. For example, in the early stages any computers affected should be left on but disconnected from the internet or other networks.

The guidance, which has been published during Cyber Security Awareness Month, also includes a downloadable checklist to help care staff recognise if an incident is underway, and questions to help data protection leads gather information during an incident.

The Digital Care Hub team successfully completed their 3 peaks climb in Yorkshire where they raised money for the incredible work of The Care Workers Charity (CWC).

For the UK’s care workers, early starts, long hours and mentally draining work are part and parcel of the job. As a result, it’s all too easy for illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, to push them beyond their financial limits. The Care Workers Charity’s mission is to advance the financial, professional and mental wellbeing of social care workers by making grants, signposting to resources and providing access to services. There  is still time to donate to their amazing climb using the link below.
