Kate Terroni to leave CQC

Kate Terroni, Interim Chief Executive, has announced that she will be leaving the Care Quality Commission. Please see the full announcement on our website.

You will know that Kate spent most of her time at CQC as Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care. As representatives of the sector, she asked that we pass on the following message:

“As I leave CQC, I wanted to express my gratitude for your expertise and professional challenge over the years. I have always been driven by the desire to make a difference for people who use services – a driver that I know is shared by you and the organisations you represent. Thank you for your support, which I hope will continue as Sir Julian Hartley joins the organisation and CQC does the work it needs to get back on track”.

James Bullion has been acting in the role of Interim Chief Executive during Kate’s recent leave of absence and will continue to act in this role until Sir Julian Hartley takes up post as our permanent Chief Executive.

The CQC are working to review the meetings Kate had scheduled in the coming months and will be in touch soon to discuss cover arrangements as necessary. Kate has made an enormous contribution during her time at CQC, and the CQC wish her every success for her future career.
