Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training: Code of Practice Consultation

Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is a new training programme to train health and social care staff to support people with learning disabilities and autistic people well.

Everyone hopes the training will play an important role is reducing health inequalities and stopping people dying too young.

The government is running a consultation on the code of practice for the training.

You can read more or submit evidence here.

The consultation closes on the 19th September at midnight.

Members have been sharing their responses to the consultation and their experiences of being part of the training.

You can read a summary here and an easy read summary here

You can tell us what you think or if there are things we’ve missed here in this short survey.

Members are very frustrated that there is no easy read for this consultation. It is really important people with learning disabilities voices are heard on this topic.

We are working with Bemix to hold a session on the 8th September at 1:30pm for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to share their views.
