Communications Support for End of Covid-19 Boosters (12 Feb)
Please see below for information provided by NHS on end of Covid-19 boosters communications guidance.
The end date for Covid-19 Autumn boosters is Sunday 12 February (NHS press release will be issued tomorrow). After this date, all Covid-19 boosters will stop, including primary boosters that formed part of the first course of vaccination. First and second dose Covid vaccinations will still be available for people who have not completed their primary course. Boosters may be available in future for some people as part of future campaigns.

As well as our population, this is the final opportunity for health and care staff to get the additional protection of an autumn booster. Please would you give a strong push on any internal channels. A recent national study by Bristol’s Children of the 90s researchers found the Covid booster vaccine led to a substantial increase in the antibodies that help protect against coronavirus. High levels of antibodies is associated with lower risk of severe infection.

Get your Covid booster before it’s too late
After Sunday 12 February, it will not be possible to get a Covid-19 booster. Alternatively, you can use the National Booking Service or call 111 to make an appointment.

We will continue to offer first and second dose Covid vaccinations to anyone who has not completed their primary course of Covid-19 vaccination.
Eligibility:
Everyone aged 18 and over is entitled to a first booster 3 months after their second primary dose of the Covid vaccine.
The following people are entitled to a seasonal Autumn Covid-19 booster:
front line health and care staff
everyone aged 50 and over
people with a weakened immune system
those aged 5 and over with underlying health conditions including pregnant people, people with learning disabilities and carers.
