CPA Survey to Understand the Effect of Energy Increase on Care Providers

Dear Care Associations,

Please cascade the following survey to your care home managers:

We have been in regular dialogue with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) as we look to ease the pressure on adult social care providers in regard to the energy crisis.

The DHSC wants to understand the impact of energy increases on care home providers. Whilst there is no agreement to provide immediate funding, we have been in talks with the DHSC in respect of the impact providers have shared. The DHSC accepts these examples do not reflect the whole market.

To understand the impact of energy increases across the sector, we need to collect additional data. We understand there is data exhaustion in the sector currently, but the DHSC is not going to be able to understand the impact on care homes if we do not provide the data which they need to understand the impact of the energy crisis.

The following survey is aimed at demonstrating how you have already been impacted by the rising costs of energy and how you are likely to be impacted in the future.

Whether you have recently contracted for energy, forward purchased energy, remain in an existing contract, or at the current variable rate, we need to know so we can make suggestions as to how we can work with the Government to find the most suitable remedy for the sector.

Please answer the following survey regarding mains fed Gas and Electricity only. This survey will not cover oil, LPG, or other forms of energy.

The survey will remain open until 21 September, but we would encourage members to complete the survey at the earliest possible opportunity.

No identifiable data will be shared with the DHSC or beyond the Care England Analysts

The survey can be found here.
