National Care Forum Members' Briefing 7.12.22
RCN Strike Action 15 & 20 December
Please be aware that the RCN has announced what NHS services will be exempt from the nursing strike on December 15th and December 20th. Chemotherapy, dialysis, critical care units (such as intensive care and high dependency), neonatal and paediatric intensive care are the services exempt from the strike action. Other services, which do not meet the criteria, may be reduced to a 'Christmas Day' or 'night duty' staffing level. More details here.
Developing a minimum dataset for homecare (DACHA-DOM)
We would like to invite you to take part in a study investigating whether it would be possible to set up a ‘national dataset’ on people using homecare services. This study is looking at whether it would be supported by the sector, and what sort of information a national homecare user dataset should contain. It is being funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
This research is independent of the programme of work on the digitalisation of social care being undertaken by NHS Digital and DHSC. However, there are opportunities for the study to inform and influence this programme and findings will be shared with them. The first stage of this research is a survey of UK homecare services/organisations. It should be completed by the owner/director or a manager. The survey asks about your organisation’s existing data collection practices, how data is recorded and stored, and your views on contributing to a national dataset. You can take part anonymously. It will take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete.
You can access the survey here
The closing date for the survey is Friday 9th December
The attached information sheet provides further information about the survey.
