Changes to the MCA Code of Practice and implementation of the LPS - Supported Living and Extra Care
The final webinar being run by the CPA on the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) Consultation, hosted by the CPA and our Mental Capacity & LPS expert, Rachel Griffiths, will focus on what the changes mean for Supported Living and Extra Care. The webinar will last an hour and will be held on Monday 20th June, 12:30pm.

Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) – CPA/ DHSC webinar – hearing from the frontline in social care – Monday 27th June, 13:00-14:00
The Department for Health and Social Care and the Ministry of Justice has recently launched a public consultation on the proposed changes to the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Code of Practice, including guidance on the new LPS system, which will run for 16 weeks up until 7th July 2022. The DHSC are keen to hear from and engage with, a range of different people who interact with the LPS in order to understand whether the policy they have set out in the draft Code of Practice and regulations will help to create a system that works effectively.
