New Funding - Round 5 Infection Control Grant Funding (urgent response required)
Last month, the government announced a further round of the Infection Control, Vaccination and Rapid Testing funding until 31 March 2022. The purpose of this fund is to support adult social care providers, including those with whom and local authority does not have a contract, to:
Reduce the rate of COVID-19 transmission within and between care settings through effective infection prevention and control practices and increase uptake of staff vaccinations; and
Conduct testing of staff and visitors in care settings to identify and isolate positive cases, and in order to enable close contact visiting where possible
This is a new grant, with separate conditions to the previous Infection Control and Rapid Testing grants. Please read the attached documents carefully.
The government has once again attached stringent conditions to the grant and as a result, the payments are subject to the conditions attached and any money not spent on the measures included in the conditions must be returned. Please refer to the detailed conditions attached, but, in broad terms, the total grant is required to be spent on one or all of the measures attached in the letter. It must cover expenditure from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 only. You are also required to provide three returns to us to show how the money has been spent. The first return is due on 3 January 2022 and must include spend to the end of November 2021 in each of the categories listed below. You are also required to complete the capacity tracker in two consecutive weeks prior to the funding being issued and to commit to completing the tracker at least once a week until 31 March 2022.
Please send your assurance statement back by Friday 5th November 2021 , indicating which elements of the funding you wish to take up, and your future spending returns to: asc.covid19@n-somerset.gov.uk
