Covid-19: Fear of 60,000 deaths fuels flu vaccine drive
People have been urged to have their flu jabs as health officials fear that a bad winter could cause up to 60,000 deaths. Doctors warn that immunity levels against the virus are lower than normal after few flu cases were reported last year. They fear that colder weather will favour transmission, while the darker nights will force people inside in poorly ventilated spaces. Officials warn that the threat of flu is underestimated.
