IHSCM PowerHour: Neighbourhood Health Series – Delegated Health Care Tasks

In the third of our neighbourhood health series we are delving into the complexities of delegated health care tasks.

We are delighted to welcome two of our fabulous members, who are both fellows of the IHSCM, Hayley Robertshaw, CEO of St Martin’s Care and Trudie Fell, Founder of BelleVie Home Care who will be leading this session.

What to Expect

During this session we will highlight how social care providers support the whole system when completing delegated health care tasks. The outcomes of delegating these tasks are hugely beneficial to both receivers of this type of often complex support, and the wider system. However, delegated health care tasks come with significant challenges in terms of cost, particularly around who pays.

What You’ll Learn

This session will provide insight from both a residential and home care perspective. Hayley and Trudie will provide examples of how delegated health care tasks work in practice, together with the current challenges that are being faced. We will also discuss what changes need to be made to create a much fairer system for all.

Who Should Attend?

This session is designed for professionals across health and social care who are involved in, influence, or are impacted by the delegation of healthcare tasks within care settings, including:

  • Social care providers, including residential, nursing, and home care services

  • Registered managers and operational leaders

  • Commissioners and integrated care system (ICS) colleagues

  • NHS professionals involved in delegated healthcare activities

  • Clinical leads and community healthcare teams

  • Local authority commissioning and adult social care teams

  • Policy makers and sector representatives

  • Anyone seeking to better understand the practical, financial, and system-wide implications of delegated healthcare tasks

Whether you are responsible for delivering care, commissioning services, or shaping policy, this session will provide valuable insight into current challenges, examples of best practice, and the changes needed to create a fairer and more sustainable approach for everyone involved.
