Cyber security – everyone’s responsibility

Recent cyber attacks on major brands like M&S, Co-op, and Harrods, are a clear reminder that cyber security is everyone’s responsibility.

With everything going on, I wanted to introduce myself. I’m the Director of Information Security at The Citation Group, a global group of businesses streamlining compliance for SMEs, which Citation are a part of.

I thought it might be helpful to share some measures we take to safeguard our business, so you can do the same.  All organisations should consider employee awareness training, proactive security monitoring, regular penetration testing and vulnerability scanning in the current climate. It’s also crucial to have recovery plans in place and test them often, if the worst does happen.

Protecting against cyber threats has to be a joint effort. Your systems, employees, suppliers, and network are all connected – one weak link can put everyone at risk. That’s why I wanted to let you know that we can support you if the recent cyber attacks have made you worried about your business’ cyber safety.

Citation Cyber, one of our Group businesses, specialises in helping SMEs take their first steps in protecting themselves from cyber threats. They make it simple for you to protect your business, your people, and your partners.
