By joining Care & Support West - your only local Care Association - you can enjoy the comfort and benefits of solidarity, networking and a strong voice. CQC tell us that the features of an outstanding care provider include an open staffing and management culture and extensive knowledge of best practice. We will provide you with a great environment to network with other providers in your sector and offers you ways to keep up to date with news and best practice.
Care & Support West membership gives you access to support services to help you manage your business and meet local authority and national regulator assessment and monitoring needs.
The range of services below represent some of those available to full members:
1. Networking and mutual support
Care and Support West recognises that providers can often feel quite isolated. We are here for advice and support for our members. Alongside this by arranging quarterly meetings and being involved in the Regional Conferences we actively look to provide networking opportunities for members to get together and share their knowledge and experience.
2. Providing a united voice for the sector
We are the formal representative body for the Registered Care sector when it comes to negotiating annual uplifts with the four ex Avon local authorities. Our involvement on provider forums and a range of sub groups across the region along with our active membership of Care England (previously ECCA), The National Skills Academy and links with Skills for Care as well as the Local Government Association enable us to lobby central as well as local Government on the issues important to providers at a local, regional and a national level.
3. Keeping you up to date
We ensure members are kept informed and up to date about changes and developments across the care and support sector at both a local and national level. We are members of the English Community Care Association (ECCA) which is a valuable source of information and we are well represented on provider’s forums and sub groups across the 4 ex Avon local authorities. 4. Service discounts

We can put you in touch with our preferred Design and IT Specialist. 6. Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks
We offer an efficient and friendly DBS processing service. This is easy to use, competitively priced and can provide advice and guidance regarding the regulations and process
7. Marketing strategies
If you are finding the current climate of local authority cut backs and external cost pressures from suppliers hard and want to explore how best to market your services we are able to spend time with you to help you plan a local marketing strategy, including how best to describe your unique selling points (USPs).

Increasingly we are looking to make a range of tools and guidance available to our members to help promote service viability and achieve best practice.
9. Providing business advice and support
Whether you have a small query or a major concern, membership of Care and Support West provides you with access to the expertise of the Director Board, the Chief Executive Officer and the Development Director. This group has developed a comprehensive understanding of the health and social care sector through running successful businesses for many years. In addition our membership of Care England, the National Skills Academy as well as links with The Local Government Association and Skills for Care enable us to access their support services on your behalf.
