Free one-day training session to understand how to work and care in the UK care sector. This session is for sponsored* and displaced care workers in BNSSG and will look at how we deliver person-centred care in the UK with choice, consent as well as dignity and respect. It will look at general principles of delivering care - alongside looking at the relevant legislation and the role the different organisations in the care sector.
* If you are a sponsored worker you may want to discuss this training with your employer who may want to book this for you as part of your continuing professional development (CPD). If you are a displaced worker you can book yourself onto this course.

Who is it aimed at?
This session is aimed at sponsored care workers who are new or fairly new to working in the care sector in the UK.
This session is also open to displaced care workers who are looking to prepare for their next care role with a new sponsor.
What will the training cover?
How we provide adult social care in the UK - general principles of social care, and relevant legislation, as well as the role of the NHS and CQC
How we deliver care with dignity and respect - person-centred care with choice and consent
How we deliver activities of daily living (ADLs) - positive relationships and professional boundaries
How we communicate - the importance of good communication, and cultural awareness when we deliver care
How we record the care given - accountability and duty of care, clear and accurate record keeping along with confidentiality
How we support and care for people with specific support needs such as dementia, or learning difficulties
You will be issued with certificate on completion of the training. As an accredited course - this training can be included as part of your professional development as a care worker. You can also add details of attending this course to your CV.
