"REGULATION plus ENTER & VIEW"

Overall it is not unusual for a care provider in any one year to be formally checked by no less than four different teams and required to provide similar if not the same information on four different sets of paper documents.

Care and Nursing Homes as well as Domiciliary Care providers are visited and regulated from not just one but three formal sources. CQC and Healthwatch are well known to care settings but their commissioning authorities often regulate via more than one method. So for example a provider can find themselves being visited by not only the LA Quality Assurance team but also the Contracts team.

We will be looking at this scenario from different perspectives. Get a place at this General Meeting to hear from all parties how and why they need to visit in this way and in addition hear a Provider and Lawyers view on this.

Speakers will include:

1 Joanna Parker Healthwatch Lead
2 Sue Burn CQC Inspection Manager (Somerset)
3 Nicola Cutler Associate royds withy king
4 Lucia Dorrington & Lynn Collingbourne -- Commissioning (Bristol City Council)
5 Claire Mould CEO at CINTRE

Joanna will cover:

  • Role of Healthwatch and relationship with stakeholders such as CQC, providers and commissioners
  • Purpose of Enter and View
  • Healthwatch South Gloucestershire's "programme" of Enter and View visits over past 3 years
  • Focus on Enter and View in to Care Homes
  • Analysis of findings
  • Outputs and Outcomes

NB more detail will be added as the event organisation progresses!
