Register your interest in academic research
Dear Providers,
Adult Social Care provision is rarely the subject of academic research but of late this is changing. Please look at the information below and register your organisation for NIHR so that we can support more detailed research in to our side of the care sector.
Best wishes,
David Smallacombe, CEO
The NIHR, have relaunched a sign up form for care homes, nursing homes and care villages to register their interest into research in care homes, hospices, and prisons in the South West Central region.
This is inline with the government priorities:
To ensure access to relevant research no matter where people live, and to raise the age of those taking part in research, so results are more generalisable to our aging population.
Surprisingly there are very few care homes signed up to register their interest.
Registering doesn't commit homes to take part, but by registering you will receive email invites to consider research and updates on training and funding opportunities.
Below are exmaples of research that has previously happened:
A current study which is recruiting in our region is Refresh, a study looking into malnutrition in care homes: The REFRESH trial - University of Plymouth
