RWK Goodman Provider Training Sessions
As part of the regional support offer, RWK Goodman LLP will be hosting a series of online training sessions for providers covering key aspects of international recruitment, sponsorship compliance and right to work obligations.
The sessions are relevant to providers across the sector, including those without a sponsor licence, and will provide practical guidance on recent and upcoming immigration changes, compliance requirements and common risk areas.

Right to Work Changes from October 2026

Currently, employers are only required to carry out right to work checks for employees and don’t face a risk of penalties in relation to other types of staff. However, this is changing from October 2026.
To avoid the risk of a £45,000 penalty, employers will need to carry out right to work checks on workers and sub-contractors as well as employees. It is more important than ever, that employers are aware of the right to work process to ensure they can rely on having a statutory excuse against any penalties if individuals are found to be working illegally.
In addition, there will also be an introduction of an extended liability for illegal working which applies to indirect relationships such as a substitute in a contractor arrangement. Employers much ensure they have the correct provisions in documentation and follow correct process to avoid liability.
This webinar will cover the changes, explain how to conduct right to work checks, who they should apply to and what steps employers should take to avoid the extended liability which will potentially apply to the supply chain.
This webinar is being run by Employment and Immigration specialists at RWK Goodman LLP and is relevant to all providers whether or not they have a sponsor licence.

Sponsorship Pay – Key Issues

Pay is one of the biggest risk areas in relation to sponsor compliance. Currently HMRC is sharing data with the Home Office and this is leading to many care providers receiving requests for information. If the information cannot be provided or shows gaps or inaccuracies in pay compliance, enforcement action is being taken and licences suspended or revoked.
It is essential for providers to understand the rules in relation to pay including the general minimum salary, national minimum wage, pay fluctuations and reporting.
This webinar is being run with immigration specialists from RWK Goodman LLP will cover the general pay requirements and the new rules from April 2026 relating to pay fluctuations. It will also cover when pay changes need to be reported.

Self-Audit Training

With licence revocations within the sector on the increase, it is essential that providers are aware of their sponsor duties and review their systems and processes in advance of any compliance visit or request for information from the Home Office. This session will include provision of a checklist for providers to use in carrying out an audit of their own compliance. The webinar will work through the checklist and provide practical guidance to help with checking things like recording keeping, right to work checks and general licence compliance.

Compliance and Sponsor Duties

As a follow on to the self-audit training session, this webinar will provide more detailed information about sponsor duties and guidance on the key risk areas. With revocations and requests for information from the Home Office increasing, it is essential providers are fully compliant. The Home Office takes the view that sponsorship is a privilege not a right and non-compliance can lead to the licence being revoked.
During the webinar, immigration specialists from RWK Goodman will explain the obligations in relation to record keeping and reporting and flag the systems and processes providers need to have in place to ensure compliance.
