Most people uncomfortable choosing care homes with outdated CQC ratings, survey finds
New research has revealed that more than half of people (52%) would feel uncomfortable signing a care contract based on an official rating that is more than three years old.
The survey of 1,000 UK adults – commissioned by OpenScore, the continually updated care home rating system – also found that 67% of respondents believe care homes are inspected at least annually, and that nearly three in five people would be uncomfortable placing a loved one in a care home carrying a CQC ‘Requires Improvement’ rating, a rating currently carried by more than 2,200 homes.
