Fit patients taking up beds face £500 a day charge
Charges of more than £500 a day have been introduced for patients who remain in hospital after being declared fit for discharge. The new fees are to be paid by adults who choose to stay in hospital despite their treatment being complete and a suitable care package having been put in place.
