Creating Inclusive Care for LGBTQ+
Dear providers,
I encourage you to complete this short consultation form within which you will find this link: https://www.carehome.co.uk/advice/how-to-find-an-lgbt-friendly-care-home
This link will give you additional guidance and information to inform your thoughts when completing the short form.
I found the article to be highly informative and it taught me things I had not previously been aware of.
If you do nothing else, please read the article. It will help you think about how you deliver your care and how best to do that in the context of LGBTQ+ in your settings.
Best wishes,
David Smallacombe, CEO, Care and Support West
In the UK, there are over one million lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) people aged over 55.
Conversations with individuals in North Somerset have highlighted that many within the LGBTQ+ community have concerns about accessing care later in life.
We would like to better understand how care homes are actively working to create inclusive environments where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few moments to complete this short survey to support this work.
