Supporting unpaid carers
Wednesday 13 March was Young Carers Action Day. Organised and led by Carers Trust, Young Carers Action Day provides an opportunity for everyone to call for better support for young carers and young adult carers and to bring about change.
NICE has produced a quick guide on supporting people who provide unpaid care for adults with health or social care needs. Aimed at social care practitioners, it includes information on:

Improving oral health in care homes
Wednesday 20 March was World Oral Health Day. It encourages the world to unite to help reduce the burden of oral diseases, which affect individuals, health systems and economies.
NICE has produced a quick guide for care home managers on improving oral health for adults in care homes. We’ve also produced an oral health assessment tool. Using the tool is likely to result in a more consistent, improved approach to mouth care in all care settings and by all relevant care staff.
