Social care is a spiralling crisis

Social care workers, such as support workers, play an important role in helping thousands of people with a learning disability live happy and healthy lives.

From helping people to shop and manage a budget, giving medication and personal care, to offering words of comfort at times of distress - their skills and responsibilities are vast and the positive difference they make is immeasurable.

But due to years of chronic underfunding in social care, the system is in crisis, leading to hundreds of thousands of social care workers leaving the sector.

Despite this, the government's budget last week ignored the broken social care system. Now more than ever, we need your help to tell all political parties that we need adequate funding to fix this spiralling crisis.

We want social care workers to be recognised and valued across the sector for the life-changing work they do. More funding for social care means social care workers can be paid what they deserve.

So far, over 4,000 people have signed our petition.
