Public Health Reminder for Vaccination Update and Records
Don’t give Flu or Covid 19 as a gift this Christmas!
We are pleased to share a reminder from Public Health around the importance of supporting your residents and staff with the current Flu & Covid19 vaccinations.
The monthly Capacity Tracker window 8th- 14th is almost upon us - please remember to complete the Vaccinations and Outbreaks parts of the Capacity Tracker. This is still a statutory (DHSC) requirement and really important for helping Public Health and others know what support they can offer.
Care sector staff are still able to get vaccinated for Covid and flu this winter. Vaccinations are free of charge to all frontline health and social care staff.
Frontline health and care professionals can book COVID-19 and flu vaccinations:
online, through the national booking website www.nhs.uk/bookcovid. –The last available appointment date on the National Booking Service (NBS) will be Friday 20 December 2024 for both flu and COVID-19.
by making an appointment directly at their own GP practice
at a local pharmacy
We know that it can be challenging having conversations about this matter, and that some feel winter vaccinations are no longer important. Do have a look at this 4-minute video made by the BNSSG Healthier Together Communications team and consider sharing it with all your colleagues.

Bristol, North Somerset Vaccination Award Scheme for Care Providers
Care & Support West will be announcing the winners of the Vaccination Awards at the Care Awards in 2025 for the highest achievers for the levels of vaccinations.
We would like to invite you to participate in this year’s Flu and COVID-19 Booster Vaccination Award Scheme for care providers. Run in partnership with the Integrated Care Board, and Care and Support West, the annual award scheme recognises and rewards care providers who achieve high levels of both flu and COVID-19 booster vaccine uptake. The scheme is open to all CQC registered residential and home care providers in Bristol and North Somerset and the results will be taken from the Capacity Tracker data – another good reason to ensure all your vaccinations are being recorded accurately. Please see details attached.
