Job Advert: Social Care Workforce Redesign Project Coordinator

 

Project Purpose

Using a range of project, change management and coaching methodologies, the post holder or company will work closely with social care provider managers and wider commissioning corporate functions to co-create and drive opportunities for improvement through the delivery of recruitment, retention, and development of social care workers across the system.

The Social Care Workforce Redesign Facilitator will be expected to:

  • Drive workforce transformation and redesign, linking across health and social care in our system

  • Act as a change agent, working collaboratively within matrix cross-organisational teams, to transform recruitment and retention of our social care workforce.

  • Work within the available project budget, optimising outputs on time.

  • With support, work alongside colleagues from community, primary care, social care and acute trusts to create career pathways, and enhance our offer to improve recruitment and retention.

  • With support, work closely with key stakeholders to support the development of workforce transformation initiatives which focus on social care roles

  • Work closely with existing system-wide transformation programmes to produce and implement short-, medium- and long-term workforce solutions

  • Create and take every opportunity to build collaborative and co-creative cultures by supporting and challenging colleagues to build more and better relationships across boundaries

  • Provide expertise on nnational workforce policy and best practice – drawing in new development from relevant organisations such as Health Education England, NHS England and Improvement, Skills for Care and Proud to Care.

  • Advise health and social care partners on appropriate policy and initiatives to enable better recruitment, retention and development of social care colleagues

  • Create and lead the development of collaborative developments to improve the future supply pipeline of the social care workforce.

 

Outputs of this work include:

The project will deliver a measurable improvement in the recruitment and retention of colleagues across the system.  This will be achieved through working with partner organisations to create career pathways and an improved “offer” for colleagues working in social care, primary care and across our system. This will be based on collaboration rather than competing between organisations, creating a sustainable solution to recruit and retain support workers.  The project will also include workforce transformation, thinking how we work in different ways, using staff differently to make the most of the staff we do have.
