Information on services that could be impacted by rolling power cuts . A summary of the risk is below and further information is available within the briefing note itself.
Summary
· The most likely scenario for winter 22/23 is there will be no significant impacts with both gas and electricity margins being adequate
· The Reasonable Worst Case Scenario (RWCS) if pre-emergency measures are exhausted, it could lead to power cuts
· The RWCS has been developed for contingency planning purposes only and is not a prediction
· Power cuts will most likely affect 35% of consumers for 2x 3-hour blocks, between 15:00 – 21:00
· Each 3hr block will affect a different group of consumers
· Power cuts will be no notice for the first 48-72hrs, with 24hrs notice thereafter
· Protected Sites will be exempt from power cuts.
