At a recent meeting of the BNSSG Healthier Together Support Network (HTSN) Steering Group it was decided to organise future focus on the issue of overseas workers. It is interesting to note that 15% of the NHS workforce and 20% of residential care workers are non UK qualified.

To help us understand the issue and how the HTSN team can support the sector please can you answer a few questions:

  1. Approx. how many oversees staff does your organisation employ? Are you expecting to recruit more over the coming 12 months?

  2. Do you have any information or insight into the experiences of oversees staff within your organisation?

  3. What targeted support (if any) do you have in place currently to meet the health and wellbeing needs of oversees staff?

  4. Do you have any resources that might be helpful to the group?

  5. Do you have any thoughts about what further support might be useful for these staff?

If the responses above can be broken down by occupation, it would help us to provide a more targeted response.

If you would like to present any examples of how you are supporting the health and wellbeing of overseas workers or you would like to share an area of specific concern please let Ginette know as per the links below
