Care Home Stars in Poignant Music Single ‘I see you'

BRUNELCARE’S GLASTONBURY CARE HOME STARS IN POIGNANT MUSIC SINGLE TO RAISE AWARENESS AND LAUNCH ‘I SEE YOU’ FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN.

SOMERSET, December 7th, 2022 – Glastonbury Care Home is delighted to share the release of their inspiring single, ‘I See You’ by Paul Denegri. The song marks the launch of the ‘I See You’ Community Social Fund, aiming to raise money for elderly care residents who, unfathomably, live without the funds to afford basics such as new clothes, toiletries and haircuts – often relying on the generosity of the frontline care staff or charitable donations.

The song was written, produced, performed and funded entirely by professional musician Paul Denegri, who has volunteered for just a year at Glastonbury Care Home.

Christmas is a time of coming together but for many care home residents who have no family or friends coming in to visit, Paul will

be bringing music to the bedsides of residents as a continuation of a unique initiative that has touched the hearts of residents and care staff alike with his one-to-one bedside music sessions.

Paul aspires to not only raise money for elderly residents in need with the I See You Community Social Fund, but to also encourage and support musicians – whether professional or amateur –  in volunteering at their local care homes to spread the cheer, comfort and community of live music to those in the last chapter of their lives.

After a personal experience Paul was inspired to produce the song and video after realising  the profound effect music can have especially with the elderly.

Through the emotional connection of music they find comfort opening a connection with their community, relieve loneliness and boredom, find enjoyment, discover new friendships and peace of mind.

Paul said: " I looked around and saw how happy the carers and residents were. There is always so much love and care. I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness for the 24/7 care that so many in our community need. I knew that the residents and staff would be so excited to be involved.”

Edwin Jose, Glastonbury Care Home Manager, said: "Paul is a volunteer with us, he has brought his musical skills into the home which has enriched the lives of so many here, especially the residents confined to their rooms. Everyone enjoyed being part of the film. Thank you Paul for this inspiring project”

Sandra Payne, Head of Nursing and Clinical Excellence, said: "The video and song are lovely and we are really grateful to Paul for doing this for Glastonbury Care Home. A huge thank you to all involved, particularly the residents, for being the film stars and sharing their home while filming took place."

'I See You' has officially been released today and can be viewed on Youtube and downloaded for free on Spotify.
