Representing Providers and Supporting Learning Through Partnerships

As we know, a challenge of working in the social care sector is that providers are dispersed; we are many small independent organisations without overarching structures or support services. It is difficult to reach providers and this is one area where CSW along with other associations can truly act as a representative. Examples of this are where we can work in partnership with other organisations to support sector benefits.

CSW is proud to work with providers at the Bath College Care Academy, supporting the most effective development of the next generation of workers in the care sector. Bath College have an excellent reputation in the care sector and work tirelessly to ensure that their students have the best opportunities to develop meaningful career pathways in the care sector. We are pleased to work with them as we believe in the need to bring a positive, vibrant workforce into this critical work area.

We are also starting to work with Weston College’s brand new Health and Living Skills Centre, building relationships to support placements in services that are at CQC Good or Outstanding. The facilities are the new centre are exceptional and are intended for developing people within social care as well as Health. We welcome provider members who would like to link with us in beginning this exciting project with Weston College- please let Angela know if you would like to be involved in working with us on this.

Another very new project is the Place Based Placement Project Group established to provide oversight and assurance for a pilot project providing and funding clinical placements. The objective is to facilitate an expansion in clinical training placements by expanding the placement places and funding available. With the growing focus on integration of health and social care, nurse shortages in social care and the attention on career structures and professionalisation within social care, we’re very pleased to have been invited to join this discussion and believe it could provide many opportunities.
