C&SW MEMBER RECOGNISED AT NATIONAL CARE AWARDS
We were very pleased to be part of the party that accompanied one of our members AbleCare to the recent Great British Care Awards in May.
A 2014 Care & Support West Awards winner, Teresa Silverthorne, was named a finalist in the Care Home Manager category at the Great British Care Awards after winning the South West Regional Final.
Teresa has worked at Hengrove Lodge Care Home, run by AbleCare, for over 20 years where she has been Manager for the last 8 years, she was praised for her dedicated, passion and commitment to her staff, service users and their families, ensuring an excellent quality of life is outstanding.
Sam Hawker, owner of AbleCare said; “We are so pleased to have received this recognition for the work we do. There is so much negative publicity in our sector but all this fantastic work being done by people every day we’re delighted to play a little part in it.”
AbleCare has six finalists in this year’s Care Awards. Two finalists in the Care Home Registered Manager category - Kim Thomas and Maxine Cope; Susan Grace has been nominated for Ancillary Support Frontline; Gabrielle Sheard for Care Home Frontline; Gabrielle and Joanne Sheard for Quality Dementia Care and the whole Frenchay House Team – Outstanding Contribution to Health & Social Care.
