In 2020, following the Winterbourne View (2012) and Whorlton Hall (2019) scandals relating to the abuse of vulnerable adults, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published a guide for CQC Inspectors titled, “Identifying and responding to closed cultures.”
As a growing area of interest to the CQC, join our free webinar on culture and the key considerations of culturally appropriate care.
The webinar will discuss ‘closed cultures’, defined as “a poor culture that can lead to harm, which can include human rights breaches such as abuse”. It will explain the risk factors that inspectors will look out for and highlight the warning signs that can lead to breaches of fundamental standards.
Hosted by our Care Business Manager and ex-CQC inspector, Mick Feather, we’ll be discussing:
Key points surrounding culturally appropriate care and the CQC’s increased focus on culture, including during inspection
Identifying and responding to closed cultures, including important culture definitions
Practical hints, tips and guidance to support your service
Building solid HR and Employment Law foundations, including recruitment, documentation, and employee engagement and wellbeing.
With HR and Health & Safety expertise in the care sector, as well as CQC compliance knowledge, our focus is on helping businesses like yours navigate compliance confidently, safely and effectively, so during the webinar you’ll also have the opportunity to ask any business-specific questions you may have.
