Employment Rights Bill Implementation Roadmap Publication
On the 1st July, the UK Government has published the Employment Rights Bill Implementation Roadmap on GOV.UK (see separate press notice here). The Roadmap provides clarity for employers and workers on how and when Government will engage and consult on the detailed implementation of Bill measures once it becomes law, and when measures will take effect.
As the Employment Rights Bill continues its passage through the House of Lords the Roadmap sets out our plans for implementation, supporting understanding of what the Bill means in the longer-term for workers, employers, trade unions and others once it becomes law. Factsheets with details on the on the measures included in the Bill are available on GOV.UK.
For many measures, Government will continue to consult with stakeholders on the detail of policy and implementation of the Bill. The Government’s aim is to sequence consultations in a way that enables partners to engage meaningfully. Consultations will be accompanied by opportunities for direct engagement with Government.
With regards to Fair Pay Agreements the Roadmap sets out the following on implementation timelines:
“Beginning in Summer/ Autumn 2025, we will consult on… the Fair Pay Agreement for the Adult Social Care sector”; and
“in October 2026… bringing forward regulations to establish the Fair Pay Agreement Adult Social Care Negotiating Body”
If you have any questions about the timelines, publication, and wider measures from the Bill, or would like to speak with the team about them, please do not hesitate to contact them at Olivia.Dye@dhsc.gov.uk
