Changes to Workforce Development Fund W.E.F Financial year 2024/25

We want to bring to your attention that there are changes afoot with the WDF.  We have been advised by Skills for Care that they have today updated their website accordingly – see link --- Changes to learning and development funding for adult social care (skillsforcare.org.uk) paragraph headed “Transition from WDF to new fund”.

Please note that for next year any training eligible to be claimed via the WDF and has already been started before 31st March 2024 will be honoured providing certificates are produced before 31st March 2025. You will need to present your claims via Skills for Care – not the Care & Support West Partnership. As we understand it future funds will be administered by Skills for Care.  

This is not the best news for providers and we do appreciate training is very important.  We have however always understood that WDF has not been guaranteed year on year and now it looks like system change is being confirmed. We hope Social Care training will continue to be supported by the new system being proposed and wherever we can, we will try to support our partners.
