What is RESTORE2 – and how to access free training
RESTORE2 is a package of tools designed specifically for residential and nursing homes. It can also be used in the domiciliary care sector, and by unpaid carers. The tools help carers spot the signs someone in their care is becoming/feeling more unwell (known as deterioration) and how to escalate this to healthcare professionals. RESTORE2 can be especially useful when individuals may struggle to communicate a change in their condition or feelings of becoming unwell to their carers. RESTORE2 can also help to improve the confidence of carers in communicating with healthcare professionals.
RESTORE2 will support carers to:
Recognise when a person they care for may be deteriorating or at risk of physical deterioration
Act appropriately according to the resident's care plan and treatment escalation
Be confident to measure a complete set of physical vital signs (observations known as soft signs) to inform escalation and conversations with health professionals
Speak with the most appropriate health professional at the right time, giving relevant information to support their professional decision maki
