COVID-19: CSW RESPONSE AND SUPPORT

Care and Support West are intent and supporting the whole social sector not only our members.

We sent this letter to your commissioning authorities yesterday (this included LA’s and CCG’s) and also to the MP’s who represent you and your service users. We await responses.

We are keen to gather information on how you are faring under this extraordinary and pressuring situation. See below a range of questions for you to consider and send us feedback on so that we can operate as a bridge between you as providers and the commissioners of your services. Tell us about how your service is being affected by:

  • Issues with supplies of PPE and COSHH.  Suppliers are now restricting number of items you can purchase (even toilet roll) and delays in delivery times.  Face masks and thermometers completely out of stock.  Where is the government stock??

  • Issues with ordering food.

  • Lack of clarity on when staff can return to work if they show even symptoms - let alone if they test positive.

  • What providers can do if there is a significant number of staff unavailable to work.

  • Clarity from LA’s regarding any uplifts or additional monies – we know you will probably have spent significant additional money – we’d heard from one provider that they had spent 3k in the last 2 days for laptops etc.

  • Any other day to day issues you are wrestling with --- we need to know so we can speak local councils and MP’s on your behalf to ensure they know exactly the pressures you are all under.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss issues which are really significant to you in particular --- we may be able to provide support – e.g. we may know another provider near you --- it may be useful for you to speak to each other.
